Short answer: Confirmed so far: the RRSP limit is $35,390, the CPP ceilings are $76,700 and $87,400, and EI is 1.64% on earnings up to $70,800. The TFSA limit and the federal tax brackets for 2027 are not published yet.

What is the RRSP limit for 2027?

The RRSP dollar limit for 2027 is $35,390, up from $33,810 in 2026, according to the CRA’s limits table. Your own limit is the lesser of that and 18% of your earned income from the year before, minus pension adjustments, plus unused room. Your notice of assessment shows your exact room, and the RRSP calculator can estimate the tax saved.

What will EI cost in 2027?

The employee EI rate for 2027 is 1.64% on insurable earnings up to $70,800, so the most an employee pays is $1,161.12, based on the OSFI’s report on the 2027 EI premium rate. Employers pay 1.4 times the employee amount. Quebec has its own, lower EI rate (1.29% for 2027) and also charges QPIP, whose 2027 figures are not published yet. The maximum weekly EI benefit for 2027 is $749, up from $729. The EI calculator works out the premium on your pay.

What are the 2027 CPP numbers?

The CRA has published the 2027 CPP ceilings: $76,700 for the first level and $87,400 for the second, up from $74,600 and $85,000 in 2026 (limits table). The rates stay at 5.95% and 4%, which works out to a maximum of $4,355.40 plus $428.00 of CPP2, or $4,783.40 in total. That total is our own arithmetic, because the CRA has not updated its contribution maximums page yet. Quebec workers pay into the QPP, and its 2027 figures are not out. The CPP calculator uses the 2026 numbers.

What is the TFSA limit for 2027?

The 2027 TFSA dollar limit has not been announced yet. For 2026 it is $7,000. The annual limit is indexed to inflation and rounded, so it may change in some years and stay put in others. Your total room also depends on your age, past contributions and withdrawals, so check your CRA account. The TFSA calculator shows how contributions grow.

Will the federal tax brackets change in 2027?

The federal tax brackets for 2027 have not been confirmed. They are indexed to inflation each year, and the indexation factor is normally announced in the fall. See the 2026 rates and limits and the federal tax brackets page for what applies to the return you file in 2027.

When do I file my 2026 return in 2027?

For the 2026 tax year, most people file by April 30, 2027, and any balance owing is due the same day. Self-employed people have until June 15, 2027 to file, but must still pay by April 30. The RRSP deadline for the 2026 tax year is Monday, March 1, 2027. See the 2027 tax calendar, which also has a calendar file you can download.

Are any provinces changing something in 2027?

A few provincial changes for 2027 have been announced, and some are not law yet. Check your province before you rely on any of these.

  • Manitoba: new homeowners and renters affordability credits, $1,700 and $675, are set to start on January 1, 2027 under a bill the province introduced.
  • Nova Scotia: a bill that would change the overtime threshold to 44 hours from April 1, 2027 had been tabled but not passed when we checked.
  • British Columbia: indexation of tax brackets and credit amounts is paused for 2027 to 2030, so BC’s thresholds stay at 2026 levels (budget tax changes).
  • Prince Edward Island: the province changed its top tax brackets, so see its province page.

Your province page has the rest, for example Manitoba or all provinces and territories.

Should I change my plans for 2027 now?

For most people, no. Keep using the 2026 rules for 2026 decisions, because the return you file in 2027 is still the 2026 return. Try the income tax calculator for 2026, and for a first look at next year’s pay, the take-home pay 2027 preview. Check back here when more 2027 numbers appear.
