# CRA news: latest releases from the Canada Revenue Agency

> The CRA's latest public news releases, pulled from the Government of Canada news feed once a day, each one linked to the original CRA page.

This page lists the Canada Revenue Agency's latest public news releases, pulled from the Government of Canada news feed once a day. Each headline shows the date the CRA published it and links to the original release. We don't rewrite the releases, because the original is always the better source.

CRA news releases announce new payment dates, changes to benefits, the start of filing season and warnings about scams, and most of it never reaches the front page of a newspaper. Instead of hunting through a government website, you can scan the latest five headlines here and click through to the full release on the CRA's own page.

Reading them takes a minute. Look at the date first, since a release from February may already be old news. Then ask whether it touches you: a change to child benefit payments matters if you receive one, a filing-season launch matters to nearly everyone, and a scam warning matters to everybody. Say a release tells you a payment date has moved. You'd want to know whether it's your payment, and which month it affects, before you plan around it. If something does apply, our guides and calculators can show what it means in dollars.

## What are the CRA's latest headlines?

## How fresh is the list?

The feed is fetched once a day, so this page is not real time. A release from this morning may not appear until the next refresh. For anything urgent, go straight to the CRA's news page. For dates that never change, see the [tax calendar](https://tax-services.ca/tax-calendar), and for current limits, the [numbers for the year](https://tax-services.ca/tax-numbers). Our [guide to dealing with the CRA](https://tax-services.ca/guides/dealing-with-cra) covers letters and calls, and the [benefits and credits guide](https://tax-services.ca/guides/benefits-and-credits) explains the payments that releases often mention.

## How do you tell a real message from a scam?

Don't click anything in a message you're unsure about. Scammers copy the look of CRA notices, so sign in to your own CRA account or call the agency using the number on its website instead. A news release isn't a message to you personally, so a text or email that claims to be one and asks for a payment or your banking details deserves a second look. Type the address yourself, or use the [CRA's sign-in page](https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/digital-services-individuals/account-individuals.html) to reach your account directly. Our page on [how to spot a fake CRA call, text or email](https://tax-services.ca/cra-scams) goes through the usual tricks.

## What if the headlines look empty?

Quiet weeks happen, and so does a feed that hiccups. If nothing new shows, the headlines will usually fill back in at the next daily refresh, and the CRA's own news page is the place to check in the meantime.
