# Official government websites for Canadian tax information

> A list of the official federal, provincial and territorial websites for Canadian taxes and benefits, and why you should confirm every figure with them or a certified professional.

Every figure on Tax-Services.ca is copied by hand from an official website, so we can make mistakes, and the data can go out of date. Please confirm any number or rule with a certified professional, such as a chartered professional accountant, or on the official government websites listed here, before you rely on it. This page lists the government sites we use. We provide no services, consultations or registrations, and we do not represent any of them.

**Short answer:** The official sources are the Canada Revenue Agency and Canada.ca for federal rules, Revenu Québec for Quebec, and each province or territory for its own taxes and benefits.

## When should you talk to a certified professional?

Ask a chartered professional accountant, a licensed tax professional or a lawyer when a lot of money is at stake, when your situation is complicated, or when the official pages are unclear. A website like this one cannot know your full situation. If you disagree with the CRA, the official objection process and a licensed professional are the right places to go.

## Why can our figures be wrong or out of date?

Rates, limits and rules change during the year, and official pages are sometimes updated after we last looked. We take each figure by hand and show a "last checked" date, but a mistake or a stale number can still slip through. The [page on how we collect information](https://tax-services.ca/how-we-collect-information) and the [corrections page](https://tax-services.ca/corrections) explain what we do when we find one. If an official page shows something different from ours, the official page is right.

## Where does this information come from?

The list comes from the public websites of the governments named above, checked in November 2026. A few of these sites refuse automated requests, so we could not test every address with a script; open any link that fails in a normal browser or search for the site by name. This is an independent information site: we provide no services, consultations or registrations, we do not represent the CRA or any organization, we copy information by hand from official websites, and we do not guarantee it is accurate. We accept no liability for decisions based on it. See the [full disclaimer](https://tax-services.ca/disclaimer).
